This is achieved through the careful integration of design, materials and manufacturing elements. Here, we highlight some of the main considerations you should keep in mind when choosing your footwear:
 Lasts – All Munro American shoes are made on a ‘combination’ last. This means the heel is narrower than the toe. A last is the plastic mold on which we make our shoes, and the last design determines how a shoe fits your foot – including numerous characteristics from the shape of the toe to the height of the heel to the depth of the instep. Once you’ve found a shoe that fits your foot properly, all other shoes manufactured on the same last will fit similarly. One of the many things that make Munro shoes truly special is the unique design of our lasts, developed from our 45 years of manufacturing experience.
Heel Height – Heel height, the focus of much discussion, also influences comfort. Some women need a higher heel due to a contracted Achilles tendon or plantar fasciitis. Many of our customers have their heel height prescribed by their doctors.
When it comes to heel height, looks can be deceiving. You probably think of heel height as how high your heel is above the ground. What you really need to know is the “last height,” which measures the elevation of the heel of your foot over the ball of your foot. The heel height number listed in our catalog indicates last height. We want you to make the right choices for yourself. Please ask your fit professional for more information.
